The direction of the development of Thailand's automotive industry aligns with the global market's future demand for vehicles. Currently, the focus is shifting toward vehicles with higher technology and more environmentally friendly features. For instance, countries in the European Union continue to prioritize environmentally friendly vehicles, particularly by controlling the emissions released into the environment. This includes limiting the use of gasoline-powered personal vehicles in certain cities, starting in 2019, with potential for further expansion. This will affect consumers' decisions when purchasing new vehicles. Additionally, the rapid increase in the use of electric vehicles in Europe may pose another challenge to Thailand's automobile and parts exports in the future. Given the current trends in the industry and the surrounding environment, it may be time for operators, especially SMEs in the automotive and parts industry, to pay attention to and monitor these business trends. This will allow them to effectively handle the changes that are expected to take place in both the near future and in the coming years.
